In progress
We’re changing Wellington’s streets to make it safer and easier for people to get around in climate-friendly ways. Paneke Pōneke is our plan for a citywide bike network alongside walking and public transport improvements.
Beginning these works in 2021, we’ll have delivered 28km of street changes by June 2024. Work is currently underway in Karori, Kilbirnie, Wadestown, Thorndon, Evans Bay, and through Berhampore to Newtown.
