Wellington Waterfront Improvements
Lighting, edging and carparking
In progress
The waterfront is a celebrated part of our city that’s changed over time, from a working wharf to an entertainment precinct with an ever-increasing number and range of users. We want it to be a safe, vibrant space for everyone to enjoy so we’re upgrading lighting and edging to meet the evolving needs of this popular area.
Safety improvements are already underway. Mahi is being done in stages to minimise disruption and is expected to be completed by 2027.
Meanwhile, Frank Kitts Park car park has reopened, providing almost 100 more public parks near the waterfront.
